Digital Career Institute (DCI) is a 12-month long coding bootcamp based in Germany with campuses in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Leipzig. The courses are fully immersive and cover entry-level basics in stack HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. DCI also specialize in technologies like Angular, Node.js, and Databases. DCI was launched as an initiative to integrate refugees into the growing IT industry. Today it is committed to training anyone who wants to pursue a tech career. In addition to coding languages, students will master best practices on platforms like GitHub. They will learn agile project management and development methodologies like SCRUM.
DCI is intended to help untrained individuals attain digital jobs, and so the application process assumes that candidates have no prior coding experience. The DCI application process begins by filling out an online form. Candidates will then be contacted by education consultants from DCI to discuss further details.
Job placement training is woven into DCI’s program. Career workshops help students prepare an industry-specific resume, create an online presence, and learn techniques that will make them more attractive to potential employers. DCI also sets each graduate up with a 2-month internship in the tech field.
The 12-month course focuses on self-paced learning, project work, and teacher lead discussions and lessons. In addition to standard courses, however, students will also attend specialized sessions led by DCI alumni and top professionals who offer tips to advancing in the field. Students will also partner with a buddy who they’ll meet with at least once a week. Aligned with Digital Career Institute's core belief in helping improve opportunities for refugees, they also provide German and English language courses lead by expert instructors.

Well, I was coming to write a really bad review about the school. But reading the last reviews, I think they say everything I wanted to say.
It's incredible to read this. I thought that maybe it was just my class, that we were unlucky, but I guess that it's just a DCI thing.
I just give at least 2 starts to the instructors because I could see that some teachers were trying their best with that they had, even tho they could not really teach us anything very well, but I know ...Well, I was coming to write a really bad review about the school. This should be a criminal act.
this was the worst school I had ever attended. Do you like uncaring bureaucracy then go to this school. If you have a teacher that doesn't care about the class and does not do his job and you report him the school will gas-light you. Many people in my class complained about our teacher and the school would say no one else is complaining not knowing we are all sharing are reports on WhatsApp. I think this school could get shut down if they don't change. Disappointing. Look for a better course.
DCI (Digital Career Institute) is a disappointing educational institution in my opinion. I had high expectations for their web developer course, also because of the high cost of 30.000€, but my experience was overall very frustrating.

The DCI lured students with full-bodied promises, talking about high salaries and great opportunities in the job market. They claimed to have a high placement rate, but fell far short of delivering. In addition, they promised inexperienced students who had no previous IT knowledge that they could easily attend the Web Developer course. However, this caused the class to falter and hold up the rest of the class.
First of all, the organization and communication of the institute was extremely poor. There were repeated delays in providing course materials and information, leading to confusion and lack of clarity.
The quality of the teaching left a lot to be desired. The course content was presented in a superficial and unstructured manner, which made it difficult to understand and apply the material. The instructors often seemed unprepared and seemed to have insufficient knowledge both in their subject areas and as teachers. This led to frustration as explanations were not understandable and students had to ask repeatedly. The tone even became harsh at times as students' ambiguities were not adequately addressed. In addition, students were presented with an overwhelming amount of information that was difficult to manage. Instructors could not adequately convey the content, and there was little time for questions. Instead, students were given additional links that led to even more information overload.
Job search assistance was also inadequate. Although the DCI advertised that it would assist participants with placement in companies, the reality was disappointing. There was limited assistance, and the job opportunities offered were often unsuitable or of low quality.
The certificate issued did not contain any grades or detailed information on the teaching content, so it was not apparent what had actually been taught. Potential employers were therefore unable to assess the students' abilities and rejected them. Furthermore, there were misrepresentations, such as not having completed an internship, which led to a further discrepancy between stated skills and actual experience.
Overall, my experience with the Digital Career Institute was very disappointing. The support was inadequate and my educational goals were not met. I cannot recommend the DCI and advise anyone seeking quality education and career support to look for other options. I would recommend that the Job Center discontinue financial support for this overpriced DCI course until the current conditions can be shown to improve through rigorous monitoring. Horrible Experience
I started with a 4 Week Orientation Course. One out of four weeks was very valuable to me. Learning a bit of HTML and CSS. Unfortunately 3 weeks were a waste of time because they didn't introduce neither Java nor Python.
I decided to take the risk to do a 12 months Python Programming course. Just one teacher for the 12 months. Approximately 30 to 90 minutes classes a day. And around 4 or 5 hours self-learning. Better off with udemy
In my view it's become just another racket in the web of parasitic and largely worthless Jobcenter funded Bildungsmassnahmen who are happy to collect an easy 30,000€ of taxpayer money while not being subject to any meaningful quality standards or accountability toward considering and respecting the actual learning needs of students, and whose certificates already seem to be becoming worth not much more than the paper they're printed on because of it.
For reference, 30k is the cost...In my view it's become just another racket in the web of parasitic and largely worthless Jobcenter funded Bildungsmassnahmen who are happy to collect an easy 30,000€ of taxpayer money while not being subject to any meaningful quality standards or accountability toward considering and respecting the actual learning needs of students, and whose certificates already seem to be becoming worth not much more than the paper they're printed on because of it.
For reference, 30k is the cost of a year's US university tuition. They have the audacity to market themselves as 'no experience needed' and 'beginner friendly' yet hire programmers with often no teaching experience, and give them free reign to disregard everything the psychology, developmental science, and neuroscience fields have proven about effective knowledge transmission to inflict either endless PowerPoints/notions/blog posts (often read word for word) or oft uncommentated and largely unexplained livecoding sometimes so fast that students cannot even keep up with it, let alone take effective notes with which to later be able to marry theory and practice during the exercises.
Exercises typically do not build on each other and have no connection to previously introduced concepts or increasingly seemingly even the day's lecture, and many teachers actively disregard and deny the unequivocal need of most learners to review and therefore be able to effectively learn from our previous work with impunity, because how people actually learn is apparently just too tedious and annoying for them to deign to subject themselves to.
The situation is so bad that most of my own classmates seem to have stopped even attempting the assignments and it's entirely common for nearly entire classes to resort to giving up on learning from the teachers at all, opting to mute the lectures in favor of teaching themselves via udemy and Youtube courses and only showing up to class for the certificate at the end because ultimately attendance is the only metric the jobcenter cares about to keep the money flowing. It's about money
School is biased towards students and has no actual corricolum.
You might think it's a good thing for students but that's only if you are way below average and don't care to wast government money and your time.
The school blames teachers for everything because they don't have a corricolum and accept all kind of students regardless of their level because they care for quantity only, actually they accept people with serious psychological problems. Such thing will affect good students...School is biased towards students and has no actual corricolum.
You might think it's a good thing for students but that's only if you are way below average and don't care to wast government money and your time.

You will never hear them tell the students to respect the teacher, rather remind you to fill the anonymous feedback, ironically most teachers are former students with little experience!!. Money comes from the unaware Jobcenter, and only 70-80 percentage of students reach end of the course, you can imagine that the placement rate is even much lower. Orientation course
I took the Orientation course with DCI, I had zero knowledge with webdev and online marketing, the gave the basics that I need to start my journey. A very helpful team and good skilled instructors. Plus I had a great time while taking the classes it was fun and interactive.

Bad school and unprofessional teachers

I attended the course. Initially, I was tentative, but the trainer, his method of teaching, his depth of knowledge in the domain area - motivated me to complete the course. The Simplilearn team was supportive and cooperative. Modules were brief and to the point and were well arranged. It was easy to understand and complete with real-life examples. For betterment, may I request them to critically look at the multiple-choice questions and answers in the LMS? Felt there was scope for improv...I attended the course. Initially, I was tentative, but the trainer, his method of teaching, his depth of knowledge in the domain area - motivated me to complete the course.
