First of all, I have a great support system at home that allowed me to focus 100% on this course for 4 months. I was able to take a recourse to prepare me for the full-time program.
The first month was HARD. I thought I was going to give up. The assignments are fast, and I spent all of my free time studying. It was difficult not to compare where I stood to others in my class. At my toughest moment, I reached out to my Career Services Manager and my TA. They both helped encourage me and offer support when I needed them.
I would say the most important take-aways for those looking to join the bootcamp: Make sure you have a support system. Don't compare yourself to others in the class. Stay dedicated and find the motivation behind why you're doing this.
Coding Dojo has great resources throughout the course, that continue on for 6 months after you graduate. There is also an option to pay more for a yearly alumni pass.

My journey with NYC Data Science Academy began in 2018 when I enrolled in their Data Science and Machine Learning bootcamp. As a Biology PhD looking to transition into Data Science, this bootcamp became a pivotal moment in my career. Within two months of completing the program, I received offers from two different groups at JPMorgan Chase. Over the next five years, I was promoted to Vice President and Data Scientist Lead, where I developed personalized financial insights that were integrated into the Chase mobile app.
Recently, I relocated to Europe for personal reasons and took some time off, only to find myself facing the ever-evolving tech job market. It quickly became clear that the landscape had shifted significantly towards generative AI. After researching multiple options, I returned to NYCDSA and enrolled in their "AI Bootcamp for Real World Applications." This program provided the deeper technical training in state-of-the-art AI, particularly in Large Language Models (LLMs), that I needed to reenter the workforce. For my capstone project, I developed an advanced hotel recommender system using semantic search, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and LLMs, hosted entirely on AWS. Additionally, I published blog posts on the project and my AI insights, which helped demonstrate my expertise to potential employers.
What sets NYCDSA apart from other institutions is the depth of their technical curriculum and hands-on approach. While many programs lean more towards business concepts and inspiration, NYCDSA strikes the perfect balance between theory and practical application, particularly in design and implementation. Cole, the lead instructor for the AI Bootcamp, was instrumental in my success, breaking down complex AI concepts in an accessible and engaging way. Thanks to this bootcamp, I re-entered the job market with confidence and cutting-edge AI skills. Two months after completing the program, I received offers from two different companies. Je suis également déjà passé par un bootcamp data d'une école "concurrente" avec une gestion très "usine" de ses élèves, ce qui me permet de constater les points forts de Jedha.
J’ai donc suivi les formations Essentials, Fullstack et Lead Data Science & Engineering à temps complet chez Jedha (cursus data complet donc) et je ne peux que recommander l'école à d'autres personnes qui cherchent éventuellement un point de chute pour se former à la data.
J’ai particulièrement apprécié le côté humain/accompagnement et la pédagogie Jedha.
Les cours du matin (théorie) permettent de bien comprendre les concepts fondamentaux, tandis que les sessions pratiques de l’après-midi permettent de mettre immédiatement en application ce qui avait été appris le matin.
Pour moi, le véritable point fort de Jedha est le sentiment "d'être à l'école" avec des instructeurs dédiés toute la matinée qui sont réellement compétents et expérimentés dans le domaine, qui prennent le temps de répondre à toutes les questions et qui ne laissent personne de côté.
L'après-midi, place à la pratique avec les exercices supervisés par un "teacher assistant" qui est également présent pour la moindre question et pour la correction de chaque exercice avec les élèves.
L'ambiance est conviviale, l'équipe pédagogique est bien présente et accessible sans aucun souci.
En comparaison de ma précédente expérience dans une autre école ou nous étions seul face à nos notebooks, avec 1h30 de masterclass par mois, souvent bâclée par le temps...l'autonomie va de pair avec la solitude dans ce genre de contexte !
Évidemment, aucun organisme n'est parfait à 100% et ma principale critique est lié à l'évolution rapide des outils utilisés dans la data qui provoque dans une minorité de cours, des problèmes de versions/compatibilité/KO.
Cependant, il y a toujours eu des solutions à chaque problèmes et il y a bien un travail côté Jedha pour prendre en compte les feedbacks et corriger ce genre de choses sur la plateforme.
En résumé, c'est très complet, très intense/technique mais très enrichissant avec un bon esprit de "classe" et on se sent ni délaissé, ni seul.
Je recommande donc Jedha !
Ayant fait le cursus Essentials à temps partiel et le reste à temps complet, je conseille fortement si c'est possible pour vous, de privilégier le temps complet pour la meilleure expérience d'apprentissage.
(Mention spéciale à la possibilité de passer un titre complet RNCP niveau 6 ET un titre complet niveau 7)

I found this really cool, but since they were still junior, they needed more time to gain experience in the field. Additionally, they had many meetings throughout the week, which I felt was excessive for instructors. This sometimes made them unavailable when students needed immediate help, but for the most part, they were supportive and had our backs.Overall, I highly recommend this school!
