Codeworks is an immersive coding bootcamp with campuses in several locations around the world. Students can attend Codeworks courses in-person or remotely. Programs include 8-week and 12-week, full-time, software engineering and full-stack web development courses. All programs cover HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node, Express, SQL and NoSQL databases, Angular, and React, with the 12-week course also covering DevOps, continuous deployment and systems architecture.

The courses are divided into two sections: theory and advanced programming topics, then applied learning through building complete products. Codeworks aims to help students build complex apps and gain an advanced understanding of JavaScript. Graduates should be able to build entire applications and contribute to coding projects of any size.

Codeworks is tailored for people at any level with a three-part program process. To apply, candidates must first pass an admission challenge. Applicants with no previous coding experience are offered a remote intro course that covers programming fundamentals, basic JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and more. Once admitted into the program, students complete an 8-week, remote pre-course where covering intermediate programming topics like jQuery, Git, Developer tools, and intro to APIs. Once students pass the pre-course, they can start the main programming course.

All Codeworks programs include hiring events at the end of the course, including portfolio preparation and tech interview training. Finally, all graduates receive lifelong career support, and become part of an international network of alumni and partner companies.

Delivers what it promises (at least for me)

The bootcamp is pretty intense. A lot of hours and it goes fast. It doesn't go deep on anything but it gives you the tools to do it on your own.
It is a lot of money but if you are in Germany you can go with the Bildungsgutschein and then it is totally worth it.

I would advise to learn to code on your own before joining because of the fast pace. I've seen colleagues struggling with frameworks because they didn't deeply understand the basics. Not because the basics are not expl...

    A Transformational Experience at Codeworks!

I recently graduated from Codeworks on July 8th, and I can't emphasize enough how pivotal this experience has been for my growth as a software developer. The program was well-structured, with a meticulous curriculum tailored to give students the tools and knowledge necessary for the real world of coding. The educators were not only knowledgeable but incredibly supportive, ensuring that each student grasped the concepts being taught. I came into the bootcamp with expectations and left wit...

    Hard work but worth it

Codeworks is an exceptional bootcamp that offers a rigorous and immersive learning experience. Their unique admissions process, including several interviews and a focus on basic knowledge, ensures a high-quality cohort of students. Throughout the course the instructors were fantastic, always available to provide support and guidance. The program's pace is intense, but it allows for tremendous growth in a short period.

The course is well-structured, with exercises building upon pre...

    Hard but rewarding BootCamp

Committing for Codeworks is a decision you shouldn't regret if you're a hard-worker and determined person. The program is tailored for you to reach the ultimate goal of getting a job in the tech industry. As a on site student the only con I can follow up are the online lessons (watching videos). You would expect instructors to have much more direct (and human) interactions by choosing on-site locations.

    Incredibly poorly taught

Codeworks promise the world. They somehow fabricate statistics on their website that suggest near 100% employment rate, however that isn't true of my cohort nor the previous one.

Let's start with the 'lectures'. The lectures are a daily video of about 10 minutes. They are vague and uninformative. Sometimes they are just adverts for databases taken directly from the manufacturers. After that you have a Q&A with a tutor over Zoom. As the company seem to pride themselves on thei...

    Student Affairs

    Apr 27, 2023

Hey there, thanks for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your experience with us. If you had raised this while you were studying with us, our Student Affairs team would have had the chance to discuss it with you and work out solutions to any issues you were facing.

Our course is designed to get you job-ready, so naturally we expose you to resources from manufacturers and public websites, since knowing how to read official documentation and find answers is a crucial skill for any developer!

Regarding our team, we hire the best instructors we can find out there. Our students are an incredible source of talent, and sometimes the best ones end up becoming teaching assistants and can eventually work their way up to instructors. That’s actually a sign that this program works really well. Alongside our senior instructors with industry experience, we think it’s a great combination and our internal feedback always backs that up.

Lastly, about our outcomes, we are one of the very few bootcamps that are extremely transparent about reporting performance. On our website you can find up-to-date stats, alongside the actual criteria we use to construct them. Something that’s very rare in this industry. So, yes, the number we publish are 100% accurate, and they can be audited anytime. As explained in the dedicated section on our website, our hiring rate represents "Students who sign a job offer within six months, with a work visa and are actively looking for employment." This stat does not include students who are not looking for a job (otherwise it would be meaningless), because for example they decide to continue their education, return to their previous company, or never intended to look for a job (e.g. if they’re founding a company). In the pursue of total transparency, on the same page we also publish how many of our students do not look for a job and why.

Above all, we’re sorry this course somehow didn’t meet your expectations. If you’d like to discuss this further, you can reach out to our team at any time and see if there’s anything we can do to improve your experience. Our aim is that every single student has an amazing journey with us and we put our best effort every day towards that.

    Good bootcamp

Very intense course. The curriculum prepares you well, and the course is for the most part well organized.
You always have access to an instructor via online help requests, if the ones at your facility are busy. In general, intimate environment.
Some instructors are themselves fresh graduates of the program...

    The way to go

After graduating last year I can say Codeworks is the way to go. Specially if you're switching careers from inside the IT world. If you're not coming from IT it'll be a bit tougher, but still worth the ride. When you're switching careers, time matters a lot. Other less immersive bootcamps may be cheaper but at the end of the day your time is money, and being able to go through the course topics in depth and in such little ''real world time'' makes it for me. If you add the customized sup...

    Hard but worth it

In 2022, I attended this bootcamp at the London campus, which had a rigorous application process. Prospective students were required to complete an introductory course (if new to coding), pass a technical interview, and complete a pre-course consisting of three repositories with different tasks. I spent a month before the course completing the last requirement.
The course itself was divided into two parts: learning and doing. The first six weeks focused on technical theory and complet...

Bootcamp that prepares you for work!

I would rate my experience at Codeworks very highly. It was definitely extremely challenging, but with the support of the peers and instructors you got to learn a lot. I felt like it prepared me for what's to come in an software engineering job.

    Amazing!

I really didn't expect that I'd be able to turn my career around in only 4 months, but with Codeworks I did. I had to borrow the money to afford the tuition fee, but it is easily the best investment I've ever made. I had been using HTML and CSS for a few years, but my JavaScript knowledge was very minimal (even after doing a couple of online intro courses). I have experience in design but had been a teacher for the previous few years and to be honest, I felt like I just about scraped thr...

A worthwhile experience if you have the money

The process to get into the bootcamp is an extensive one that took a month to get through, with simple tech interviews, a pre-course, as well as a front end website you have to complete all before you join the actual bootcamp. I will say these were a good filter to determine whether you are actually set out to be a software engineer and have the mindset of constant learning under timelines and pressure (I say that but i had a classmate that couldn't access a 2d array in his 4th week of t...

    Great bootcamp!

Being part of Codeworks changed my life. I learnt a lot about programming and they gave me the tools and good practices so that I have a better understanding on how the code works and what is best to do.

Before Codeworks I felt really insecure about my programming skills but the bootcamp really boost up my confidence. The instructors are great (if you're online EST Santi is super open to help and he really does know his stuff) as well as the job assistance.
