The Jump offers part-time and full-time bootcamps covering Full-Stack Software Engineering, DevOps, Front-End Web Development, and JavaScript Development, which can be accessed online via Zoom from anywhere. These programmes provide in-depth technical training and career-change support, and will take students from little or no experience to a professional standard. Founded by three family members in 2018, The Jump is on a mission to help students master the awesome power of tech so that they can make the jump to where they want to be, whether that’s starting a new career as a Software or DevOps Engineer, upskilling, or bringing their ideas to life.
The bootcamps are taught by senior professionals with 15+ years of experience as software engineers, who intuitively understand the tech and can focus students on learning on the most commercially relevant and valuable technologies and practices. Students will also receive ongoing career-change support from experienced recruiters, for as long as they need it, covering everything including CV writing, interview practice, and networking strategies.
The Jump has successfully helped students from all sorts of backgrounds (including make-up artists, Zumba instructors, and zoo keepers) make the jump to software engineers at companies including Lego, Lloyds Bank, EA Games and The Guardian.
To make learning more accessible, The Jump offers an in-house instalment plan, loans from education specialist finance providers, and a study now pay later option with an Income Share Agreement.

What put’s The Jump above other similar courses is that you’re not treated like a number. From the moment I expressed interest to the moment I got a job and even after that, everyone at The Jump truly cares about my learning and my career. This is achieved as they have small class sizes, about 10-15 per class I think at a maximum. This means your course mates and tutor can get to know you. You can ask questions during the lesson and have fun, it’s a very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere to be in.
The owners, Rob, James and Katie, have created a truly exceptional course which goes into great depth on many subjects. By the end of the course you will have a brilliant portfolio of projects that demonstrate the knowledge you have gained.
Don’t get me wrong, software engineering may be one of the most challenging things to learn BUT the support network of other students as well as passionate, dedicated and knowledgeable tutors makes it significantly easier to do. Anyone who is truly driven to become a software developer will become one with the help of this course.
Once the course is over doesn’t mean you won’t continue to get support from everyone at The Jump. They will help you with projects, creating a CV, interview preparation and career advice.
Two weeks after finishing the last lesson I had a fantastic job offer from a large bank as a software engineer. So, in less than a year I had made a big career change and got myself on the ladder and I have The Jump to thank for that.
11/10 would recommend to anyone who is looking to become a software engineer.

Great Course, Great Tutors

The Course
The course was varied; beginning with HTML and CSS, it quickly gathered pace when we hit Javascript and by the time I reached React, I couldn't believe how far I'd come in a matter of months and how creative I could be with my code.
Of course, I sometimes doubted myself, but was constantly supported and never felt like I was left behind. They genuinely cared about everyone on the bootcamp, and that was refreshing.
On 'graduation', I took my time to finish my portfolio and began job hunting. Within two weeks, I had a new career as a developer.
I honestly can't believe how quick it's all been. It's been one of the best decisions I've ever made, and would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone looking for a supportive, friendly and fun learning environment.

Just a great time all round.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with The Jump, I attended the Front End Bootcamp and my tutor was Russell. I'll start by saying the staff are all awesome, it's a family run business and they really care about the progress of all of their students and will go above and beyond to help you out or give you career advice. They have also taken on a few other teachers and teaching assistants who have all been vigorously screened and approved by James.
The teaching is also very thorough, so...I thoroughly enjoyed my time with The Jump, I attended the Front End Bootcamp and my tutor was Russell. I'll start by saying the staff are all awesome, it's a family run business and they really care about the progress of all of their students and will go above and beyond to help you out or give you career advice. They have also taken on a few other teachers and teaching assistants who have all been vigorously screened and approved by James.
The teaching is also very thorough, so you won't graduate with a feeling that there are holes in your knowledge. Russell is a great teacher and above all just a great guy to know, he makes the 3 hour evening lessons breeze by. Most nights we kept him up talking untill pretty late because my cohort loved to chat!
I made great friends on the course, both with other students and the staff, and I'm incredibly thankful that I chose this course rather than one at another company, due to the class sizes and languages learned.
We also took part in a Hackathon, which was a great way to exercise what we'd learned and have a bit of fun competition (well, fun if you weren't on my team...I always intend to win).
All in all I wouldn't change much about the course, you get out what you put in and if you want to learn JavaScript I couldn't reccomend better people to teach you.

Full stack web development review
I joined The Jump’s Full-Stack Developer Bootcamp as a way to get into the industry, and I’ve just accepted my first software developer role in London.
I found that the knowledge and hands-on experience that I acquired during their 30-week, part-time bootcamp was really effective at preparing me for the industry, particularly after not coding for more than 6 years. It was also more effective than my previous formal education. But that’s not the only differ...I joined The Jump’s Full-Stack Developer Bootcamp as a way to get into the industry, and I’ve just accepted my first software developer role in London.
I found that the knowledge and hands-on experience that I acquired during their 30-week, part-time bootcamp was really effective at preparing me for the industry, particularly after not coding for more than 6 years. It was also more effective than my previous formal education. But that’s not the only difference. After graduating from the bootcamp, both James and Rob went above and beyond in helping me through the process of getting a job as a software developer. At every stage they provided the extra support, advice and interview practice I needed to succeed.
Throughout both the learning and job-hunting processes they offered a personalized approach. I felt looked after as an individual and it felt like they cared about my success almost as much as I did.

Front-end developer
I had a very little knowledge about bootcamps but wanting to change career, I was going through many options and that’s when I came across bootcamps. The Jump is a great platform to start if you’re looking for career change options or even want to learn. The whole team is very supportive and very helpful and very much friendly. My tutor was Russell and I must say that he is one of the best teachers I came across because the way he teaches is very effective and enjoying. He interacts with asking questions and giving various kinds of solutions to it, he also gave us many kinds of games to play related to our course which makes it fun for us. James also used to help us with anything that we ask and also, he and Robert used to have sessions with us privately just to get our review and over all experience which I think its great because we could talk to them about anything and they would happily help us. At the end of the course, we were asked to prepare portfolio including all our work and projects that we’ve worked on and Robert is very helpful in these things. He is always very helpful regarding portfolio or CV or any other things that we need to have and also advices well on each of the things.
All the team members of this bootcamp are very helpful in their own way and whenever I asked anything to anyone, I have got the response withing very less time which is impressive. I enjoyed my time and learnt a lot of things and it will definitely be beneficial in my future. Excellent in depth full-stack web development course
I came into the coding bootcamp world knowing no code but wanting to change careers. I researched a handful of the “bigger” names and picked one of the online full stack courses. After two weeks it was clear it didn’t work for me - the course was focused on technologies not used in the UK marketplace (no JavaScript on the course at all!), the teaching wasn’t great and the support hours were based on US times. So I went back to the drawing board and found The Jump….I’m so glad I did, the...I came into the coding bootcamp world knowing no code but wanting to change careers. The curriculum is thorough, up to date and focused on technologies that are being used in the marketplace today. There’s a HUGE amount of material to get through, but the course tutor, James takes you through it at the right pace to ensure you’re able to absorb it all before moving on to the next area. I think this is where the course shined the most for me was the teaching and support James provided. It’s awesome being taught by someone with years of actual development experience, the way he brings in real life commercial examples brings the teaching to life and helps to cement the knowledge. The structure around building a portfolio of work to put in front of prospective employers is excellent. You’ll come out of the course with some fully functioning apps that you can show off. And it starts early as well, you’ll have a CSS piece done in the first few weeks. The support from the team after graduation has been excellent as well. From helping with coding queries as you continue to build and refine your portfolio, to CV assistance and sending through job leads the guys have been incredible. Genuinely feels like they actually care about your next steps. When you compare the cost of this to other bootcamps, it’s an absolute steal. And best of all? My Experience of The Jump Digital School
I had been working for a well known website for a number of years as a QA Engineer and wanted a fresh challenge. I'd always been interested in Web Development and had been exposed to it in my role as a QA but never thought I would be able to, pardon the pun, make 'the jump' from QA to Developer.
I looked at a few Bootcamps and came across The Jump Digital School. I contacted Rob and James who laid out what the course requirements would be and what would be provid...I had been working for a well known website for a number of years as a QA Engineer and wanted a fresh challenge. I'd always been interested in Web Development and had been exposed to it in my role as a QA but never thought I would be able to, pardon the pun, make 'the jump' from QA to Developer.
I looked at a few Bootcamps and came across The Jump Digital School. I contacted Rob and James who laid out what the course requirements would be and what would be provided. They made me feel sure about the decision I had made and continually encouraged you to progress throughout the course and after.
James makes all the students feel at ease as there is a diverse background of people from different types of industries who have all decided to make 'The Jump'. The lessons are clear and the course content is well structured and James takes the time to help each student who is stuck and is always on hand to assist, even when I have messaged at some crazy hours.
During my time on the Bootcamp I have learned a lot and feel better placed with the skills to gain a role as a web developer. Rob is always on hand for any advice for applying for roles, interview techniques and CV structure and overall encouragement among other things.

Brilliant and challenging course
I'd spent about a year considering whether to do this course, and I'm so glad I took 'the jump'. I took this course on to extend my software engineering skillset and become a more rounded developer by having a good understanding of DevOps. The course was fast paced, exciting and great to go through. An exceptionally good decision
I’ve worked in tech as a product guy for a while now but I used to work in frontline healthcare. So decided tech was the place to make bigger changed and help more patients and remove as many inefficiencies as possible. But I didn’t know how to code and that held me back.
I chose the jump for a primary reason: the days of the week suited me! I looked at a load of different courses and got the curriculums…they all kinda looked the same when you don’t understand what you’re looking ...I’ve worked in tech as a product guy for a while now but I used to work in frontline healthcare. So decided tech was the place to make bigger changed and help more patients and remove as many inefficiencies as possible. But I didn’t know how to code and that held me back.
I chose the jump for a primary reason: the days of the week suited me! I looked at a load of different courses and got the curriculums…they all kinda looked the same when you don’t understand what you’re looking at, that’s kinda how it feels. But, when I spoke to the founders of the Jump I instantly felt that they were gonna teach me what I wanted to know and also, what I needed to know!!!
They made their own jump and so know what it means to start their own thing! And it’s with that vigour and passion that you get taught!
I’ll be honest, it’s hard work. A boot camp is an opportunity to learn not an automatic right to knowledge absorption and a new ability. The course can seem to go slow to start with and then accelerate to the moon maybe too quickly actually!! It can be hard to keep up at times so you have to be assertive and manage your time. My only criticism is that I’d value more diagrams and less text in the PowerPoints…I’m more of a visual learner…but the videos/recordings are still useful months after course end.
I like the people I met too, albeit virtually.
So I’d do this again in a heartbeat. I didn’t change my career, I enhanced it! And it gives the me the tools to do something wholly new when the next lightbulb idea goes off :)
