Disappointing Experience
I recently had an unfortunate encounter with Careerist Bootcamp, and I must say that my experience was extremely disappointing. I joined the program with high hopes and expectations of gaining valuable career skills and guidance, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a scam.
From the beginning, there were red flags that I should have recognized. The promises made during the recruitment process seemed too good to be true, and I should have been more cautious. I joined the program with high hopes and expectations of gaining valuable career skills and guidance, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a scam.
From the beginning, there were red flags that I should have recognized. The promises made during the recruitment process seemed too good to be true, and I should have been more cautious. The bootcamp claimed to provide comprehensive job placement assistance and guaranteed career success, but in reality, it was nothing more than empty promises.
Once enrolled, I quickly realized that the program lacked substance and failed to deliver on its commitments. The curriculum was poorly structured and lacked depth. The instructors lacked expertise and were unable to provide meaningful guidance or support. The promised networking opportunities and connections with industry professionals were non-existent.
To make matters worse, when I attempted to reach out to the program's support team for assistance or clarification, I was met with unresponsiveness and indifference. It became evident that their main objective was to take my money rather than genuinely help me in my career development.
As a result of this experience, I not only wasted my time and energy but also lost a significant amount of money. It is disheartening to see that there are dishonest organizations preying on individuals who are genuinely seeking to improve their careers.
I strongly advise anyone considering Careerist to proceed with extreme caution. Do thorough research, seek reviews from reliable sources, and be skeptical of any program that makes extravagant promises without concrete evidence of their effectiveness.

Misleading
This is an overpriced course which you can learn online on your own. Everything that is taught in this bootcamp is common sense. I titled this as “misleading” because the sales reps pitch things that are not even offered once you start the course (I.e., the automated JAS system). According to the sales reps JAS was supposed to apply for companies on my behalf, which is a major selling point, however, once you finish the course you notice that this isn’t true. Another thing the sales team failed to communicate was the “internship”. The internship is not really an internship. It’s more like an additional 4 weeks of regular class. ITS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. You literally breakout in small groups and pretend to be in a meeting with your peers…

Sales Engineering Training is a rip off
I enrolled in the Sales Engineering Program for $3,250 in January 2023. The positives- the teachers are seasoned Sales Engineers and the other students are very nice. The cons- you will not have enough technical skills to get hired as an SE after completing their program. Please don't let social media stars tell you you will be able to; they were hired during the pandemic. The market is full of new SE's trying to find jobs. The course slides are not anything you can't Google or find on YouTube. There is no homework. Everyone passes the end of class mock interview and 5-10 minute student demo presentation. They pretend like you won't pass but you will. The non-tech "mentors" do not provide any tech insight and give wrong advice by asking you to lie on your resume saying you have skills that you do not. My Careerist group had 70+ people and not one of us have gotten an SE job in 4 months. I reached out to previous groups from the November and December cohorts and they haven't found SE jobs either. A handful of them have gotten jobs in Tech sales not SE. The price for the class is not worth it. They sell you a dream but you will NOT be able to get an SE job simply by taking the Careerist bootcamp even if you have a college degree. The contract they ask you to sign prevents you from suing them or filing a class action law-suit against them. Trust me we want to sue! They also use current Careerist students during the "internship" to sign up new students every cohort. They coach you on how to convince new students to sign up to pay. The internship did not teach us anything new that the classes did not. Dont go into debt to take this program. There are cheaper programs you can find and free resources on LinkedIn. Currently, Sales Engineers need hands-on experience of 3-5 years to get hired. This bootcamp will not be enough. They helped with the tedious nature of building a resume & gave great feedback on how to improve. However, there is one caveat, be sure to ask what their ratio of students to instructors/mentors is. While the people are great, they can only do so much & if they have a 50:1 balance when you sign up, you won't get the care/time/attention you deserve.
Part 2 - The Curriculum
The material could be more groundbreaking. However, there are few assignments & the workload is more than manageable if you have a full-time job or kids. Interesting, but can be better.
I felt like the lessons could have taught more. There was a solid amount of information, but manual QA has so many avenues that their current curriculum isn't enough. Great experience
I started Careerist to have a refresher in Software Manual Testing, but my main goal was Automation testing.

Nice and Flexible
I have been to other boot camps and they were either too fast pace or too slow. I appreciate the flexibility that was given to us as I didn't have to drop everything to attend the classes and I could go at my own pace.
The instructors are very nice and will answer your questions and they genuinely feel like they want to help you learn.
