While I had intended to attend in-person, the program was filtered into online which I was initially hesitant about, having heard so many great things about the in-person experience. I found that it took a bit of adjusting to learn online, but also helped me save a lot of time that I was able to invest back into further learning.
I found the curriculum effective, but due to the delay in matching learning materials with the extreme speed of technology, a there were a few pieces that I think would have helped us hit the industry running faster (Things like PostgreSQL instead of MySQL from a popularity standpoint). Otherwise the comprehension of core concepts in web development were of the utmost emphasis. Having to explain concepts in Javascript and React in both a high-level manner but also technically really helped deepen understanding of the learning materials. I liked the frequent whiteboarding/code challenge sessions toward the middle of the program, and would love to see even more of it for future cohorts - my peers echoed that this was a primary stressor going into industry.
The most impactful part of the bootcamp was definitely the value added by our instructors. Anyone can go on Codecademy or Coursera and put themselves through a software development class but the live feedback for industry best practices, explanation of concepts and theories when understanding wasn't fully actualized. It also really helped having someone who's worked in the industry to comment on what poor coding practices look like. When learning in isolation, you can develop bad habits for things like code structure, file organization and general best practices.
Eli Boninger and Joseph Young were the instructors for our cohort and I could not have better things to say about them. We spent the most time with the ever quirky Eli during the bootcamp, and his expertise in coding and passion for his students really came through. I loved his flexibility and willingness to go above and beyond for his students when they were curious about something outside of course material. Joseph has an electric personality and it was really fun to learn from him, it was easy to stay engaged when he was on screen.
Now, immediately post-graduation we're showered with industry panels and support from career advisors, and it's essentially everything that Brainstation could do for me. The rest is up to me now, but I do feel that they've set me up for success.

After deciding to give software development a go, I tried learning on my own all about the big wide world of true development where all the pieces fit together to form a large cohesive whole. I struggled mightily to put the pieces together on my own. Actualize was just what I needed to learn the details as well as the big picture. We learned relevant technologies with a level of rigor that was just right to keep pushing forward adding piece after piece to our toolbox until we could build an entire full stack project completely on our own. While we did not master everything during the weeks of our bootcamp, we did learn how to get there eventually through continued hard work and how to continue learning new things on our own after the bootcamp has ended. Looking back on how far we have come I am so glad I pulled the trigger on Actualize. There is no way I would have been able to achieve these gains on my own. And to think we did it all in just a few months is incredible. Much thanks to our teacher Brian who showed up for us each day and always seemed eager to walk through this journey with us, giving us all the exact level of help we needed to succeed well beyond graduation. Before the bootcamp, I had no technical knowledge, coming from a background in the arts and human services. The structure of the program–daily, live remote, module based–made it easy to stay engaged and learn efficiently. It was hard–very hard–but I felt supported by the structure of the day, coupled with the ability to get help from instructors and peers who were available daily after classroom hours.
My instructor was Rich Seeds, an expert in his field, knowledgeable, and with a great sense of humor. Together with my cohort, we created a learning environment that fostered open curiosity, encouraging active questioning and problem solving in order to master challenging concepts. I also appreciated the Pathway Program, which prepared me for the job search with resume reviews, mock interviews, and networking opportunities. I’m so grateful for the guidance that Claribel Quintana–my one-on-one Pathway Director for my post-graduation job search–has already given me, and I look forward to continuing our work together in the coming weeks.
Because of Tech Elevator, I feel confident in my skills and in my ability to continue to learn other coding languages (Python is my next venture!) on my own. I am excited about the opportunities ahead as I begin my job search as a junior developer.

When I first began researching coding bootcamps, I was a little unsure about which one to choose as there are so many of them out there. I ultimately chose Coding Temple because of positive student reviews, career services, and the tech residency program. It was a rigorous, but incredibly rewarding course that has brought me so far ahead from when I first started learning about coding. The classes are well taught, and the instructors truly go out of their way to help the students both by meeting 1 on 1 as well as hosting workshops to teach interview practice tips. Many of the instructors have made a positive impact on me including, but not limited to, Travis, Sarah, Grayson, Daniel, and Yessica. The tech residency program, while intense, it was an incredible experience that taught me about how to build an app with a team and meet deadlines. What I learned during the tech residency could not have been learned without participating in the program. Enrolling in the software engineering bootcamp at Coding Temple was one of the best decisions I ever made! I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to enroll in a coding bootcamp. You will not regret it!

Before joining this bootcamp, I was very hesitant. I didn't have any experience on coding, but gave it a shot because I wanted to shift to the tech industry. BeBefore joining this bootcamp, I was very hesitant. I didn't have any experience on coding, but gave it a shot because I wanted to shift to the tech industry. Best decision I ever made! The instructors here and TAs are the kindest and really thrives for every individual to learn, they won't make you feel any less if you're having a hard time understanding, they are very hands one. One of my favorite things that they offer was unlimited one on ones! This really helped me when I was falling behind on some exercise and projects! They also offer Career Services where you can do Mock interviews, get help fixing your resume, and basically molding you to be job ready! Other than that, this is one of the most affordable bootcamps that I've seen while I was researching. They offer many payment plans that fits your budget. And I took the live classes, which was only 9 weeks, compared to other bootcamps that usually take 3 to 6 months. Overall experience 10/10! and I'll be graduating tomorrow!!

Y siempre me parece que vale la pena destacar la predisposicion que han tenido para resolver situaciones, a veces se ha podido resolver en el momento y otras se toman las concideraciones para un futuro. Habiendo cumplido el Boot, debo decir que para mi el mismo mantuvo siempre el nivel de intensivo y eso hizo que la exigencia siempre fuera pareja y durante los 4 meses me senti como si estuviera dentro de una empresa. Si la pregunta es lo recomendaria?? Si altamente, pero siempre hay que aclarar que lo intensivo va de la mano del nivel.
