After careful research, I discWhen I first considered a career path, I wanted something that was not only exciting but also offered ample growth opportunities. After careful research, I discovered that cybersecurity perfectly fit these criteria. It's a field that is constantly evolving, with new challenges and threats arising every day. The demand for cybersecurity professionals is at an all-time high, mirroring the rapid advancement of technology in various industries. With this realization, I decided to embark on a journey to become a cybersecurity expert. When it came to choosing the right program to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge, the SMU Boot Camp stood out to me. The university's privilege and good reputation in delivering high-quality education were key factors that influenced my decision. I knew that by enrolling in the SMU Boot Camp, I would gain more than I could expect from any other program. My experience with the boot camp surpassed all my expectations. The curriculum was designed meticulously, covering a wide range of cybersecurity topics that are relevant in today's digital landscape. One of my favorite aspects of the program was the emphasis on practical skills and hands-on learning. Through SIEMS analysis, Linux commands, and cloud security and encryption, I acquired valuable expertise that is directly applicable in real-world scenarios. Moreover, the instructors and teaching assistants at SMU Boot Camp were incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. They were always available to answer questions and provide guidance, ensuring that I had a clear understanding of each topic. I can't emphasize enough the importance of taking advantage of every resource available, attending classes diligently, and engaging with the instructors and TAs. Additionally, going the extra mile by conducting independent research further solidifies your understanding and enhances your overall learning experience. To prospective students considering a career in cybersecurity and joining the SMU Boot Camp, my advice is to embrace the journey with enthusiasm and dedication. Cybersecurity is a rapidly evolving field, and staying up to date with the latest trends and technologies is crucial. Take advantage of every opportunity to expand your knowledge, participate actively in class discussions, and don't hesitate to ask questions when in doubt. The combination of the comprehensive curriculum, supportive environment, and your own commitment will set you on the path to success in the cybersecurity industry. In conclusion, my decision to pursue a career in cybersecurity and enroll in the SMU Boot Camp has been one of the best choices I've made. I have gained a wealth of high-value information and knowledge, equipping me with the skills needed to thrive in this exciting and ever-growing field. I am grateful for the opportunities provided by the program and the invaluable experience it has given me.Intellipaat

Their bootcamp offered an immersive hands on course experience which ensured I had the skill set needed to survive in a professional Software Developer environment.
TTT's course was not the typical class room/lecture environment. It was the kind of course which engages you to constantly learn by solving problems and creating projects (I'd like to mention that this was made perfectly clear to me before I enlisted). The hands-on course work included Object Oriented Programming (OOP), problem solving with algorithms, and creating many android applications that centered around specific functions with the addition of an Internship.
As a current Android Developer, I've worked at two companies now since my departure from TurnToTech; and I cant stress how similar the course work is to what I've faced on the job. To clarify what I mean, I'll give a quick rundown of how finding and working at a Mobile/Android developer role is like.
1) To get an interview, you need a resume depicting projects you've worked on as a Software Engineer. Thus my resume (I'll note here that I was a recent Nursing grad and the only job exp I had was at the Home Depot) compromised of small android applications which TTT's course provided to create and that I continued adding onto(polished them and added my own features), the internship project at TTT which I got to work within a dev team of fellow students under the instructor who I say acted as a product manager/lead developer, and my own small application which the instructors were more than happy to encourage/help me create.
2) To pass the interview, you'll usually need to answer various Android (or w/e you specialize in) questions as well as solve an algorithm challenge/s. Both of these topics I covered within the course. As mentioned, TTT's course includes a dive into solving algorithms and learning about multiple data structures. And besides creating multiple Android apps pertaining to all the major Android components, the course provides multiple quizzes (open ended and multiple choice) to help solidify your understanding over a specific topic. In addition, the intstructors themselves offer mock interviews that are similar to what you'll face in real life.
3) Once you get a job in any Software engineering role, you'll quickly realize how there isn't a one solution to fix all problems. You'll constantly be problem solving all day every day; and that is what I believe TTT excels at the most. TTT teaches you how to create/find the answers yourself. By being a bootcamp, which encourages students to become self-proficient, they prepare you for the everyday environment where you're expected to produce without much help.
To wrap things up, the experience I got at TTT was great. For the negative reviews regarding the nature of the course, those people missed the point of the bootcamp. This wasnt a standard college course substitute. TTT was a place that accepted me with zero software development knowledge then prepared me for a software developer job in under a year. So yes, if you attend this course and have a question about a problem you're stuck on and the instructor kindly encourages you to find the answer on StackOverflow, its because thats what you'll be doing every day within your software developer career.

I decided to join the boot camp because I wanted a career that I could be proud of and that would allow more flexibility in my schedule.
During the boot camp, I had to grow parts of my brain that had never been used before. I had to work most nights and weekends, and sometimes I was exhausted.
But on the flip side, I got to play with creative solutions, make “art” in my designs, and make new friends. I also learned a ton (zero to developer).
Also, my instructor was amazing- so patient and helpful, and he went far and above his required time to push us through to the end.
Most importantly, I got to show myself and my daughter that you can do anything you set your mind to, and that hard work pays off. She and I both had to sacrifice during these 6 months, but it was worth it to show her what dedication looks like.

I retired as a classical ballet danc"I decided to embark on this course because I like technology and I was drawn to the idea of becoming a software developer. I retired as a classical ballet dancer after 20 years and decided to completely change my field of study, which required a tremendous emotional storm. However, through methodical study and measured approach, I always stayed present and never got ahead of my own thoughts.
I enjoyed every single challenge, but the biggest one is working accurately in such a short time. A three-hour class may seem long, but I assure you, it's not enough time. You need to always work ahead.
My humble advice to other students: if you are going to do the bootcamp, I can tell you, it is worth the time and effort. There is so much infrastructure around that will help you succeed, but you have to be willing to put in the hours (and endure some mental strain). As a retired ballet dancer who was used to moving and exercising for over 8 hours a day, in terms of mental effort, this bootcamp was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life: and I would do it again if I had to. I enjoyed every second of it." NGT Academy

This section is just so that you can gauge if what I wrote below applies to your situation. I learned programming mostly on my own and only became a Codecool student because I found I needed help in getting a job. I also followed the courses of another company (Scoala Informala de IT <- would not recommend), but this was after I had a decent understanding of the Java programming language. I started learning Java at about 32 years old, and I joined Codecool when I was 36. I finished their courses in 8 months and got hired about 2 months after I finished.
The good:
- You will be surrounded by a community of people willing to help you learn how to code. I'm not talking here about the mentors necessarily (though they will definitely help you... if you set your shame aside and ACTUALLY GO ASK THEM), but about the other students.
- The curriculum is decent and, based on what I heard, it somehow got better AND shorter.
- The job guarantee, although not a guarantee per se (more about that in the next section), is real. If your attitude is not that of a jackass, you will get hired through them. This was the main selling point for me, because even though you can indeed learn to program from Udemi, that doesn't mean anyone will actually hire you.
- You will also learn how to hold presentations for your projects, a skill that, from recent experience, seems to be just as important as writing code.
The bad:
- The curriculum is a roller coaster ride to go through for somebody with no experience in programming. As people have probably already told you if you're planning on becoming a student, the course is a full time job, and you will most likely not be able to also work for the majority of the courses duration.
- Some of the mentors attitude towards mastery based learning can degrade to "figure it out yourself" without them leading you to the right way of doing things. This statement needs more clarification, as for somebody who hasn't programmed before it probably means that the mentor should be there to help with their the majority of their problems. This is not the case though because learning how to research and troubleshoot are also things that students need to learn. I'm talking about stamping out bad solutions that would make your potential employer shake their head in disagreement if they read the code.
- The HR/marketing team will sugarcoat the contract terms heavily. Now I don't blame them, in fact I'd do the same if I were them, however I still want to point it out. If you read the contract though you will know exactly what you're getting into. The terms are not for the faint of heart. If you won't read them, you'll grieve about how horrible the service is. Either way, it's on you. For example you're not actually guaranteed a job, you're guaranteed 6 interviews, but if needed the number of interviews you're allowed to take can be increased (the way I read this paragraph from the contract is that if you're a decent human being they will help you get hired. If not, they'll provide the 6 interviews and then "bye bye". And also it helps protect against abusers who will wait for a year and not have to pay for the course. Bottom line, read the contract).- 17Reviews3CoursesAuckland University of Technology (AUT) Bootcamps is a tech training provider based in New Zealand offering 12-week full-time and 24-week part-time bootcamps... The part-time remote course was a good balance of structure, access to expert guidance, and convenience without cutting corners.
Training staff and their experience in industry were an invaluable resource for the class to highlight what would be relevant in our careers and context of what we were learning. It also made the content much more interesting.
3 instructors in a small class gave me options if I didn't gel with an initial overview, and surveys meant I could provide feedback on the class and I could tell they took this onboard graciously and made adjustments.
Learning in the course can be highly tailored to your previous experience and future goals - our cohort had current IT/data professionals, sales, healthcare, and even primary industry. All walked out with impressive marketable data skills that are in-demand. Assesments through practical projects really showcase this, and meant I felt really secure and overall inspired with the new skills I had gained. I was able to start working on outside web-scraping and consulting projects while still in the course.
I am usually skeptical of 'career coaching' but the support here is no nonsense, practical, and informed by genuine market conditions. Awesomely kind people too.
An extremely rewarding 6 months of hard mahi in a very exciting discipline.

There is a lot to study; the coaches provide extra materials that helps you understand everything. They are also very professional and designed the course curriculum in a way that’s suitable for all students.
The projects and exercises are very realistic, and once you complete 50% of the course, you are on your way to begin learning Machine, Deep Learning, and Data Science in-depth.
The course is well structured, with self-paced courses and tutors were hands on ground to provide all the support I needed. The tutors took their time to break down complex concepts like as descriptive and inferential statistics. You'll also get a completion certificate at the end which is a major plus when job hunting.

My only regret is not taking advantage of it sooner, and if you're reading this, hopefully you won't wait as long as I did.
I spent 15 years in my first career, a full-time Middle School English teacher, but despite the time and commitment I was putting into my job, I rarely felt like my compensation matched the effort I put in to my job, but teaching was such a specialized field and when I thought about leaving, I always assumed I would need to spend lots of time and money if I ever wanted to change careers, so I habitually talked myself out of it. Finally, my wife and I reached a point where we realized that we would need some expensive medical help to expand our family through IVF and no teaching jobs where we were located in St. Louis offered insurance coverage for those procedures...I needed a change of career to a field that would support me and my family through this need, and that's what finally pushed me into looking for a change. After interviewing and researching multiple options, I ultimately settled on the Full Stack Coding Bootcamp through Washington University- St. Louis, and boy am I glad I did.
The program appealed to me in a wide-variety of ways. The most convincing aspect of this boot camp was absolutely the program's unique appeal to old-school and new-school methods of thought alike. In a six-month intensive boot camp, I would be exposed to the most up-to-date and groundbreaking technology and languages (sometimes these can go out of date/style during a 4-6 year degree path) while also having the prestige that a well-regarded University like WashU provided in the eyes of more traditional hiring entities. In reviewing upwards of 15 programs, this was a unique combination that was truly only offered by one place.
When the program began, I was worried because so many of the members of my cohort were younger or had done coursework to prep them for this class while I was coming in totally fresh. I quickly learned that the program adapts to fit the unique needs and personalities of the members within it. I cannot say enough kind things about my teacher, Tom, and my TA, Matt, both of whom took the time after their own full-time day jobs in the tech field to give us experienced, competent, flexible, and confident guidance throughout our course. More importantly, as a teacher in my "past life", I was impressed with the instructional style the program offered. The teacher and TA would provide instruction and demonstration of a skill, and then, in a breakout room with one or more peers, I would work through a coding activity with my peers that required the skill just reviewed as a class. This format gave me the support needed on activities that I found particularly difficult as well as the freedom to learn hands-on and "figure it out" when going through the activities with my classmates. Even if my classmates and I couldn't figure something out, our teacher and TA were constantly floating from breakout room to breakout room to ensure support was provided to those who needed it when they needed it.
I also really loved the challenges and group projects. With each weekly challenge, I found myself building full stack applications that could do things I only dreamed about designing before this program. The inclusion of three major group projects similarly allowed me to learn what it would be like to work collaboratively on a development project and truly prepared me for my career. More than that, I got an opportunity to work closely with a lot of people from different backgrounds than my own, many of whom have become valuable resources and close confidants during the boot camp process.
Halfway through my boot camp journey, I began applying to jobs and sending out my resume thanks in part to encouragement from my teacher and TA, who told me it was never too early to start getting technical interview experience. I was lucky to get a couple of interviews and actually got offered a job as a Site Reliability Engineer at Mastercard while my boot camp was still going on! Suddenly, I was making twice what I made as a teacher, working a hybrid position that gave me more time at home, and getting the necessary insurance coverage I needed so my wife and I could grow our family. I was making my dreams come true, and this boot camp had so much to do with that.
I am fully satisfied with my experience, and rather than pivoting away from boot camp and focusing on my new job, I've made the decision to commit myself fully to doing both for the remainder of the boot camp because of how valuable I found the content of the course leading up to my eventual hiring. Advice that I would offer to those considering this program is to do whatever it takes to get yourself enrolled. Make the leap of faith, block out the time in your life, let your support system know you're going to need them pushing you and keeping you motivated for the next half year and SIGN UP. For those who have already taken the leap, my advice would be that you get out what you put into this program, so don't try to skate by and work through the program with as little interaction with your instructors and peers as possible. The people who thrived in my cohort were the ones who talked during breakout sessions, who asked questions when reviewing concepts, who showed up to office hours before and after class each night, and who took advantage of the numerous resources offered by the program's strong support structure. I'll say it again (and a million times if one more person out there hears me): this program helped my change my life and that of my family. I am eternally grateful and can't say enough good things about it. - 15Reviews5CoursesNortheastern Illinois University, Office of Community & Professional Education offers non-credit online bootcamps in Cloud Engineering, Cybersecurity, Da...
