MIT xPRO offers a 32-week, online Professional Certificate in Coding: Full Stack Development with MERN bootcamp. The bootcamp requires a time commitment of 15-20 hours per week. Bootcamp students will learn to build, test, and deploy web applications using the MERN stack and APIs, and learn how to set up continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines to deploy a React application. Students develop a GitHub portfolio of their work to present to potential employers.
No prerequisites are required to apply for the MIT xPRO Full Stack Development with MERN bootcamp, but a capacity for technical concepts is recommended.
This program includes video lectures and coding demos from MIT faculty, personalized feedback on assignments and projects, mentorship from experienced industry professionals, and career coaching during and after the program. Bootcamp students will also receive soft skill instruction, including personal brand building, understanding the roles and workflow of Agile development, and how to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
MIT xPRO Full Stack Development with MERN bootcamp is graded as pass/fail. Students who receive at least 75% cumulatively will receive a verified digital certificate of completion from MIT xPro. Financing options including deferred payments may be available.

When I was planning to join this boot camp, i was littile hesitant since I had a very littile Expierence in coding but faculty, office hours and course material definitely made it easy to learn and grow in this program. I highly recommend this program to with no coding background people too. Great for Self-Taught Learners!
In my opinion this course is great for students who work well independently, basically self-taught learners. If you are looking for a lot of one-on-one attention/help, the VIP treatment, holding your hand to help you early on in your learning this probably isn't the course for you. There are no classes really, just recorded video some of which is hit or miss (this is why this course is NOT $30K, because it is mostly recorded video). You get 3 hours of live office hours (which is kin...In my opinion this course is great for students who work well independently, basically self-taught learners. There are no classes really, just recorded video some of which is hit or miss (this is why this course is NOT $30K, because it is mostly recorded video). You get 3 hours of live office hours (which is kind of like a class) a week from one of your learning facilitators (LF) (not an MIT professor...they made the recorded videos). The LFs are developers who are working in the field now which is great! It depends on the each LF how you can interact in the live office hour. Some let you use audio, some only text chat (all on Zoom).
I like the pace of the course. It's not rushed like most bootcamps so you can really dig into subjects and gives you time to catch up. The way material is presented is let's say...different. It took me a little while to figure it out but what the course likes to do is give you a preview of what we are going to learn BUT they don't really say it's a preview. So it's easy to freak out but DO NOT FREAK OUT! Especially the FIRST WEEK. They threw a ton of JavaScript at us on the official week 1 (the first week or two is just setting up your environment and learning your way around the terminal.) One huge tip I can give is don't freak out when you get to week 1 because everything they throw at you they will go over in the subsequent weeks (and you have to definitely do some outside study/practice). Because this course is 32-weeks you have tons of time to study/catch up but you definitely have to put in the work. Just like anything in life, you get what you put into it.
The LFs are great and if you reach out to them they will get back to you but don't expect on-demand answers. The fastest answers are Google of course but also your cohorts. One of your cohorts will probably create a Slack or Discord server where everyone can help each other out. If no one does, take the initiative and create one because the course does NOT have an official Slack channel like most bootcamps. This course uses Canvas which is just a website email...so that can be very slow. Tech support I believe is with Emeritus in Singapore so it can take 12 hours to get a tech issue reply (like if you are having trouble submitting an assignment.)
Overall I think this course is great bang for the buck but if you want 40+ hours of live class you are going to have to look elsewhere and shell out some serious cash. If I was going to pay $20K to $30K I would want my class IN-PERSON because I would get a lot more out of it and it would be easier to form relationships with staff and cohorts.
One huge piece of advice is that I think no course can teach you everything. Do not expect that. You have to do a lot of things to learn this material. Read docs, watch YouTube videos (a little, don't go crazy with it), read articles but above all else...practice, practice, practice! BUILD PROJECTS! Don't just copy other peoples projects. MAKE YOUR OWN PROJECTS! Or improve the projects you coded along with. Flexible, Affordable and Comprehensive
This course has been a game-changer for me. I've been curious about coding and after doing lessons on Khan Academy, I decided to take the plunge into a boot camp program. I looked at quite a few different options, but this one stood out to me for a few reasons.

Second, the cost was surprisingly affordable compared to my local universities, and payment plans are also offered. Lastly, MIT is a big name in STEM schools, and it shows in the curriculum. If you want a school that's got some weight behind it and aren't afraid of a challenge, this program is a good choice for you.
I've learned a tremendous amount about JavaScript, HTML, CSS and we are now covering React. I came into this program very green and it hasn't been easy, but the knowledge and skills I've gained are priceless.
For those who are interested, I would highly suggest reviewing the core concepts prior to enrollment because it can be overwhelming and some concepts are very abstract if you don't have a background in it. But overall, I believe this course can provide the necessary skills to thrive in a development environment.

Challenging and ABSOLUTELY worth it!
I did not know a single string of code before enrolling in this program. I worked with Excel and formulas, but would still consider my knowledge in that area to be very basic. I am also a single mom and I work full-time in a mentally draining role. I am not what one would consider “math brained“. I do not process numbers as rapidly as most who are enrolled in furthering their education in a field of study such as this. I am much more “engineer minded”; how is something made, why is it do...I did not know a single string of code before enrolling in this program. However, I saw the value that it offered and knew the reason I enrolled was to advance my career with the knowledge learned in this program. If any of this resonates with you, and you are considering enrolling in the program, I found what offset the challenges I faced was my determination to see the program through to the end; because I believed in the knowledge I would gain to help me reach a particular goal. Your commitment to dedicating time to the program will be another key to your success. If you are considering enrolling, I encourage you to get started with the pre-work as soon as possible so you are familiar with the groundwork of code and terminology. Familiarize yourself with Google Collab, which is the program they use to run code cases. This is what will give you actual experience in implementing the things you will learn. Go ahead and prepare your family to understand that you will have no free time. And I mean that. When I would get home from work, I would eat a very quick bite, and sit down to start my studying/lectures. I did that until around 10-11 o’clock nightly, five days a week. I took my laptop with me to sports functions, I studied in the car, and during my lunch break. It’s mandatory that you attend the Saturday and Sunday live classes. For two hours on Saturday, and two hours on Sunday, you will be dedicated to watching and participating in a live class. Most of the time, before that class, I was doing something related to that weeks topic. And after the class, due to discussions and expansion on the material, I often had things I wanted to look up and learn about. So when I say you will have no free time, I mean every word of that. It is a small price to pay for being able to take such an extensive course on this topic in such a short time. As adults, we don’t often have the luxury to attend traditional school at this phase in our life. The structure of this course allows us to get the education, and the trade-off is we have to cram it in in a short time frame. I am glad that I pushed myself, even though there were weeks that I literally cried myself through it. So if you decide to do this for yourself, and your career, then don’t be discouraged if you find yourself in a similar situation as you progress through the course. I promise you will make it through, and you will be glad you did. My program manager was very helpful and understanding when I found myself having difficulty in an assignment for whatever reason. If you find yourself facing a challenge, don’t be afraid to honestly communicate your situation to your program manager. They want to see you succeed and are your advocate for encouragement and support during your learning.
