MIT Applied Data Science - Balanced Program Taught by Passionate, Caring Experts

MIT's Applied Data Science Program, supported by Great Learning, was everything and more than I expected. The MIT professors and Great Learning mentors and staff were knowledgeable and engaging. I loved being able to leverage my knowledge of statistics, gain an introduction to Python and apply it within the course, and bring everything together in an elective and a final capstone project. All the materials are recorded to be able to review at any time and there are more than enough pre-w...

AN EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME WORTH SHARING

The platform itself and the combination of cohort was a fantastic blend for learning. Apart from the support by Great Learning, the content/curriculum was carefully designed to hit the nail with precision.

Sandhya, who was the young lady in charge of my group was always there whenever she was needed. I remember when I had an issue with my first project which was about Pima Indians and Diabetes Mellitus. If not for her, I would have lost 40 marks just like that. Bu...

Data Science and Machine Learning Program by Great Learning & MIT IDSS

This course is one of the best courses that I have participated. All of the course materials, and provided documents were quite helpful and comprehensive. One of the best parts was the amazing academic support of the course and particularly the course manager who really was supportive during the entire course. I really recommend this course to all interested persons to ML and DL.

Please don't spend your well earned money on this

I have enrolled into this Cybersecurity bootcamp hoping that i would get an entry level job after i graduated. not only that i didn't , i didn't even have the technical skills needed to do anything related to IT. this program is a complete waste of time and money.

I was about to leave it in the middle but by then i have already invested so much time into it while the support issured me that it will get better and i will get some kind of hands on experience at the end. i will try ...

    Hi Mohamed,

We regret that your learning experience didn’t meet your expectations. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve the experience for all future learners in our program.
This program was built and vetted by expert MIT faculty and a team of instructional designers, just as all of our programs undergo thorough review for content quality and rigor. However, along with the rich content available in the program, participants are encouraged to read up on external material, and network with their program leaders, success coaches, and peers to truly gain the most value from this program. We are sorry to hear that these expectations were not communicated to you better. Please be assured that we have noted your feedback, and that our teams are working to resolve this.

Additionally, as the industry is ever evolving, we are constantly observing industry trends and adapting the program to meet the needs of our job seekers. To that end, we have recently updated our enrollment guidelines to recommend additional experience prior to applying.
Refunds are available beyond the first two weeks of the program, pro-rated up through 60% of the program’s completion. However, since you are so close to successfully completing your learning journey with us, we’d still like to help you achieve your learning goals. We encourage you to reach out to program contacts, who are always ready to help, including your success coach, career coach, and instructors for any content-related questions. You may also contact mit@emeritus.org to discuss how we can further improve your experience and help you on your learning journey.

    Full stack web development

They told me time and again I didn’t need any experience for this course. This was not the case, I didn’t wind up passing as the instructions are not well laid out, they give next to no instructions on trouble shooting and possible problems you will run into. I would not recommend wasting your money unless you have experience in coding or the ability to spend far more than the recommended amount of time on each module. I’m now $6,500 in debt for a course I didn’t pass, I feel conned, it ...

    Applied Data Science Program

The structure of program is well designed for a newcomer to understand the concepts of dat science and machine learning. In addition to that lectures from MIT professors are really thought provoking and enables learners to think outside of the box to solve some real challenges in their field.

Professional Certificate in Coding: Full Stack Web Development with MERN

I enjoyed the course. There were enough challenges to keep me engaged. The learning facilitators were usually quick to respond of I ever needed help. You don't necessarily have to have experience in coding before starting the course, but it will help at the beginning if you are vaguely familiar with another coding language. This isn't entirely beginner friendly,  but beginners should be able to complete this if they put in the work to get up to speed in the first 4 weeks. The projects th...

I used to think Certificate Programs are money traps. Easy and everyone in the program passes.
    Not with this one.

What do you expect from MIT?

I've read all the other reviews for this program and I seriously don't know what some of these other people came in expecting. It's an MIT program, with lectures from actual MIT professors, of course it's hard, of course they assume you already know things, they are used to teaching the top 1% of students in the world. A certificate from MIT wouldn't be valuable if it was an easy course.

I just finished my program and it was definitely a slog. I had to do a lot of extra learning ...

    Strongly NOT recommended

For those who may consider this program, I would strongly NOT recommend it. I started participating in this program since August-2021. I am on the 3rd and last semester currently, and will graduate in 2 months. So everything I say here is based on my observation as well as personal experience thus far.

The reason I decided to take MIT full-stack classes is that I deeply know for doing Full-Stack, I need to have some help to watch over my shoulder to see what I have been doing. I w...

    Hi Skye,
We’re sorry to hear that this program hasn’t met your expectations. Nearly all (90%) of our students tell us that their learning objectives were met or exceeded, and that is a statistic that we are proud of. However, success in this program does rely heavily on the learner’s ability to be self-directed, research on their own, and reach out when they need help. To provide that support, we require a 24-hour response time from learning facilitators, and currently all learning facilitators are meeting those expectations. We have validated they are responding to student questions effectively and within SLA. While success coaches are available for additional support, support is mainly focused on the student's academic goals within the constraints of the program, and coaches aren’t able to tailor the program’s fundamental nature to suit individual needs. We encourage you to regularly reach out to our team for support. You may also contact mit@emeritus.org to discuss how we can improve your experience and help ensure that you achieve your learning goals. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve the experience for all future learners in our program.

    WASTE OF MONEY

This is a really good moneymaking machine. Using MIT’s name to get people to enroll. Then when you contact support and had to withdraw, they wont even review special circumstances and you will have to deal with a robot-like email replies from their main office in Singapore.

I was enrolled in Professional Cybersecurity Program and Now I am stuck in paying $3700 (i got partially reimbursed) for something I cant even use.

The assigments are too much and very redundant. Not mu...
