$11M IN BOOTCAMP FUNDRAISES

  • Upskilling platform, Uplimit, closed an $11M Series A round led by Salesforce Ventures. The funding will help them further develop their AI-powered enterprise training. 
  • Upright Education, which runs bootcamps at schools like the Community College of Vermont, received an investment from Rebalance Capital this month. 
  • Wake Tech announced it will launch its own 30-week cybersecurity bootcamp this November, thanks to an $882,000 cooperative agreement from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

THE FUTURE OF TECH TALENT

  • Technical.ly’s Holly Quinn asked the question if coding bootcamps are still worth it in 2024, and noted that smaller and not-for-profit coding bootcamps, like Zip Code Wilmington, are thriving.
  • Christopher Wink from Technical.ly dug into where the future of tech talent will come from. 
  • Inside Indiana Business had a conversation with Alex Sejdinaj, co-founder of South Bend Code School, about training and supporting regional tech talent. 
  • In Nature, Christian Landry, who runs a research lab, shared how effective a Python bootcamp was in reskilling his employees. 

BRIDGING THE TECH GAP

  • Thanks to a recent grant from MacKenzie Scott’s fund, Yield Giving, Technical.ly reports that Resilient Coders has been able to hire more staff members and add AI skills and entrepreneurial training programs. 
  • Hechinger Report zoomed in on the positive effect non-profit, tuition-free tech training programs like Marcy Code Lab in NYC and Hack the Hood in Oakland are having. 
  • CBC reported on the effectiveness of Coding for Veterans, a Canadian tech training program for military veterans.

2 NEW CODING BOOTCAMP COURSES

  • UK-based Northcoders announced it will be offering a Software Development in C# bootcamp and they’re now accepting applications for its first cohort. 
  • Virginia-based online tech training provider, Kodeco, has expanded their bootcamp offerings to include two new AI programs.
