Product School

There's no real school for Product Management, but I think all PMs know that working with industry experts is the best way to gain that key PM skill. Although the content of the PLC course was decent (it's a lot of information you can find elsewhere for much less cost). The benefit really comes from working with a great instructor. Navin Nair taught our class and I really enjoyed his teaching style. He ensured we had a good class discussion around different topics, didn't just "talk about the slides" but brought some really applicable real-life examples. The exercises we did he also ensured to create we all presented and discussed the different outcomes. 

I recently completed this 8 Week Product manager certificate course with Shilpa Vir as our instructor. The course definitely met my expectations.  Shilpa has significant amount of on-field experience as Product manager and her practical insights are what makes the difference between just reading a book on PM duties vs illustrations of various on-the-job experience she brings to the class. She is very passionate and effective in conveying the course content and encourages us to think like a PM at every aspect of product life cycle. she is honest and gives practical feedbacks on ideas and assignments.  The course itself is a well organized with decent content spread across weeks to take us through the journey of a PM for a product from idea phase to launch phase. The discussions in the class and weekly assignments help us practice the theory part learnt in the class. 

If someone is planning to make a career switch, or interested in learning and experiencing the job of a PM, then i do recommend this course and of-course shilpa would be a great instructor and coach to have!

What a great experience! I was looking into switching from Marketing to digital Product Management and this course was exactly what I needed to get it.

The curriculum is pretty solid: amazing frameworks, tools, best practices, etc. And the hands-on exercises allow you to put into practice all the concepts that you learn during the classes. My instructor was a senior-level Product Manager working at Facebook with 10+ years of experience in the field. That obviously added a lot of value to the whole experience.

Totally recommended to those who are willing to break into Product Management

I took the class in New York, taught by Adam. I having an engineering background, wanted to learn about product Management. This class is designed to give you a hands on experience about each step in the process.

After each class that is being taught, you get to implement it. You get assignment to implement what you learnt and also at end of each class, you get to work with other students in the class on group project. At the end of the course, you need to do a final project, which require you to use all the things that you learnt from class, assignment and group project.

In the final class you also need to give demo on the project you worked on. You get to meet people from the industry and get feedback on mock interviews and your resume.

Finally, Adam was really a good instructor, he was always available for any questions, and used to spends time after the class to explain the concepts and very approachable.

I had fun, while taking the course. 

Product School offers an amazing platform to learn and practice the tools required to be a successful product manager. I was a student of Product School, New York and it helped me immensely in understanding the nuances of product management. Although I had experience as a product manager in India before I joined the program, the course contributed substantially in enhancing my knowledge.

The final project that each student needs to create, helps everyone to understand and execute the steps required to create a successful product. I thoroughly enjoyed working on the final project and getting weekly feedback from Jerome, a seasoned PM and a cool instructor who used to call us Product Ninjas...

In addition to the tools that one must know to be a product manger the course teaches one of the most important facet of product management- soft skills. Having experience in product management, I can admit that substantial chunk of time for a product manager is invested in coordinating and collaborating with different teams such as engineering, design or marketing and it is extremely important for a product manager to know what to communicate and when to communicate. The course helps you in gaining these skills   

Product School offers a strong network of seasoned as well as aspiring product mangers which keeps me connected to the latest trends in product management. If anyone is looking to change their career to PM, improve their skills as PM or start their own startup, I would recommend joining product school.

I am a self-taught product manager for the past 4 years and I have been very passionate about what I do. However sometimes I doubt if the way that I do things is the correct way so I was looking for chance to networking with other product managers and improve myself.

One day, I was exploring on meetup.com and found a product manager group. I was very excited and went for it. It was very nice and I found out that they also offer product manager class. I signed up without any doubt. In this class, we had chance to bring real projects and applied what we learned on it every week. The instructor would always be there to answer your questions.

My classmates are from different companies who are already product managers or wanting to become a product manager. We share our experiences and help each other to grow. In the weekend, we even get together to do homework together. Besides what I learned from the teacher, I also learned a lot from other classmates and we keep connected after the class finish.

I am also happy to find out that the way I manage product is correct. What I learned filled some gaps in my product management knowledge. This class is very good for people who wants to learn the product management process and get hands-on experience. You will gain knowledge and meet new people, get all your questions towards product management answered.

Prior to starting my career as a product manager, I had spent considerablemoney and time on other PM courses but was never impressed and felt that the material from other courses were too high level and never practical. I first met Carlos González de Villaumbrosia a year ago when Product School had recently been founded and was extremely impressed with the curriculum of the course. 

I was curious what differentiated Product School from other programs (I knew that Carlos had initially been the top lead instructor for GA's Product Manager course) so I spent a few weeks dropping by the school as well as attending their one-time workshops to learn more about the program. Not only was I even more impressed with what I saw but I also continuously heard extremely positive feedback from initial student cohorts, some of whom had already managed to land Product Manager jobs after the course.   

The course has continuously gotten even better over time and I have yet to find any other course that can even come near to the level of practical education that Product School provides. If you are looking to acquire product management skills, and get access to a strong PM alumni and mentor network, I highly recommend checking out Product School.

It's incredible what the team at Product School have put together. The material they teach you here is the most relevant and top notch information you can get. They key is the real-world experience of the instructors and the high quality and interest of the students that get accepted into the program.

You really get what you put into Product School, and if you are not giving it your all to understand the material and do your homework, you will have a hard time in this program. If Product School sees that you are not able to make the cut, they will remove you from the program. This has happened to multiple people in my time here, so bring your 200%!

Furthermore, I was pleasantly shocked by the level of support Product School gives its graduates after finishing. They are continuously sharing interesting job offer and other recruiting events. The team network is incredibly strong, with contacts at every major tech company in the Bay area.

 I enrolled for an 8 week part-time Product Management Certificate and attended the first-week session but decided to withdraw from the course. 

Just keep in mind, they are very unsupportive (although understandable) when a student wants to withdraw. And it goes against fundamental ethics in Product Management.

My advice to anyone wanting to enroll for any of the Product School Courses is

• Do your research very well before paying the tuition amount. I mean really well.
• Most of the reviews here are written by students who are made to write reviews after 2nd week and final week class. 
• Topics taught in the course doesn't get you the job, not even a call if you are trying to transition into PM. Knowing concepts and a mock project is just like reading a book on swimming and mock project is your bath-tub.
• I withdraw from the course because, I strongly feel, this course makes more impact when you just transitioned to APM/PM Role from your current role or from school. 

Ask as many people as you can, read reviews not just written by Product School students but look for opinions on Blind as well.
