I signed up for an online 2.5-month Data Analytics course with BrainStation in the fall of 2023. Before I signed up, the salesperson promised that the course was for beginners and that after finishing the course, I'd have a great portfolio to show off on my resume and stand out and receive a job. I signed up for an online 2.5-month Data Analytics course with BrainStation in the fall of 2023. Before I signed up, the salesperson promised that the course was for beginners and that after finishing the course, I'd have a great portfolio to show off on my resume and stand out and receive a job. They also said I'd get support from the community of BrainStation graduates and another participant to work on my resume and find a job. Two instructors were supposed to help us learn about data analysis. During the course, the instructors met once a week between 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm. But instead of explaining concepts themselves, both instructors mostly read from a script quickly, attempting to cover as many slides as possible. The course was not for beginners; it required prerequisite knowledge that the course material did not include. At times, instructors didn't have enough time to cover all the material, so they instructed us to search for additional information on Google I found that other online courses on popular platforms like Linkedln and Udemy, which were less expensive, provided me with more useful instruction than the Data Analytics course from BrainStation, despite its high cost. We were given two weeks to finish our portfolios, which were supposed to be valuable for marketing ourselves. But when it came time to show our portfolios, the instructors only looked at them briefly during the last class. They didn't respond to my messages about the portfolios and requested to provide a professional overview based on the course material they taught. The student support was not much of the help either claiming that their instructors are busy professionals. The BrainStation alumni group was supposed to help us too, but they didn't respond to any of my posts published with the group. Overall, the course didn't live up to what was promised. The instructors weren't very helpful, and neither was the alumni community. I didn't get the support I was expecting, and I didn't learn as much as I hoped I would. I would not recommend anyone who seeks professional development in Data Analytics to study it with BrainStation.

Fast & immersive jump into UX/UI Design
I really enjoyed my time diving into the Brainstation UX Design Course, though it sure got a bit more intense as we moved along. Having an instructor who's in the thick of the UX world made all the difference. They shared loads of real-life insights and examples that just clicked with everything we were learning. BrainStation is not a school, it is a business. They do not care about education. The first two weeks they order food for you, make everything sound like its going to be a good experience and that you are meant to be in their program, then after that... the "teachers" which are not industry lead as they claim are always leaving the class room, they go through power point slides just reading them not explaining them nor allowing you to take down notes. Everything they give you as resource...
BrainStation is not a school, it is a business. They do not care about education. The first two weeks they order food for you, make everything sound like its going to be a good experience and that you are meant to be in their program, then after that... the "teachers" which are not industry lead as they claim are always leaving the class room, they go through power point slides just reading them not explaining them nor allowing you to take down notes. Everything they give you as resources you can't take photos of, take home and etc because apparently they have "confidential" material. Most of the time, you get redirected to the teacher assistance which is usually a student that just freshly graduated the previous cohort. so therefore they are also struggling to help you because they are new to it as well. When different companies came out to give us pep talks and tell us about what they do in their current role, BrainStation is all about taking photos, having everyone pose in front of back drops and what not. This contributes to their "look". Their curriculums are not even up-to-date with the industry and they state that a couple times throughout the program.They charge 17k for their in person bootcamp that to be honest off of my experience is not worth a penny. They do have scholarships which is how I attended BrainStation and I feel bad for the scholars who provided BrainStation with the money because they got scammed. Not only myself, but many students felt this way. BrainStation tries to cover it up and have us not speak our mind on our program by trying to convince us that they help us find jobs but in reality it's checking in on how many jobs you have applied to and telling you to switch up your resume 100 times to see what sticks. BrainStation should really be looked into by their scholars because it's a SCAM. Please, please do not waste your money here or your time. Take a look at other programs.
