Berkeley Boot Camps

The UC Berkeley Coding Bootcamp is fairly rigorous, but very fair, and very rewarding. The full-time Full-Stack program is 12 weeks in length and spends a majority of the first half of the program strictly on front-end technologies, and the second half is primarily the back-end technologies. And among the 12 weeks, there are 3 major projects that allow the students to apply literally everything they've learned up to that point.

Learning and applying all of the technologies to qualify yourself as proficient in full-stack development in just 12 weeks is no short order task and it feels that way while working through the bootcamp. But the instructors and the lesson plans are consistently tailored to promote learning by building one on top of the other and hardly if ever taking steps back.

As a student who was bored easily in my academic programs in high school and university, I found this rigorous pace to be refreshing. It wasn't a matter of difficulty, but just a matter of putting in the work to follow all of the steps needed to understanding a certain  technology or concept. My instructor, Jerome is very knowledgable and always willing to support our learning whether it be by answering our questions or trying to clarify things as much as we may need before we move on to the next activity or topic.

Job assistance and career services is present throughout the bootcamp and is available to students for about a month after they complete the program. There is student support always available thorughout the bootcamp and they even set a sort of sub-curriculum for career services by establishing career milestones for students that allow them to have their professional materials reviewed and critiqued. This is a great support system as students aren't completely left to their own devices to figure out how to step into the professional realm of programming and engineering.

As a business owner, I highly recommend this digital marketing bootcamp.  Instructor and the TAs were highly knowledgeable and always available to answer questions.  Curriculum was relevant and packed with valuable and actionable topics/items.   I was able to increase my knowledge in the field, get hands-on experience as well.     Anyone interested in advancing in the field of digital marketing, I highly recommend they take this 18 week bootcamp.  It is an excellent investment in one's future! 

The bootcamp was overall good and the teachers had excellent teaching skills. It was our responsibility to obtain the necessary supplies in order to be fully equipped during the war( coding challenges). I had noticed one thing, maybe others didn't. We had some brilliant minds that they were really sharp when they had to solve a coding problem but most of them they had lack of creativity (97.3 per cent). The system unfortunately chooses really good coders instead of evaluating other aspects of someone's skills. The rainbow has seven colors and I had noticed only one color during the class: The blue color. It seems beautiful to the sky but without the other 6 is insignificant. I am suggesting to include some other lessons too because as I explained the rainbow has 7 colors not only 1. I also want to see how the genius people that they claim to be can solve this scientific problem with the corona virus. They will break into pieces because they have obtained  only one level of thinking and of course they can not solve this issue. We need smart people in this country. We do not need a vehicle without wheels and lights. The Tutors did the best to support us but some students because they paid so much money for the tuition they have started complaining about the Tutors. I was a student at the following calendar year + month: September 2018 - February 2019. Start expanding your horizons instead of being limited to yourself. With this way you gonna see real results and you won't see any results by claiming about something that you re not(smart). One advice: If someone has a little bit of experience with coding, I would highly recommend him-her to go to Berkeley. Otherwise, I would say forget it.

I never thought I will take someday a Coding Bootcamp, but I did! Before that, I didn't have experience at all! And now after 12 very intensive weeks, I can write code and build these amazing apps. We were told that we have to put about 40 hours beside the class. First I thought that's not possible but I really put this time into studying and doing homework! In this 12 weeks, you get less sleep, don't have a social life anymore but you will develop valuable skills! The class was every day from 10am-2.30pm, for me it was a perfect time because as a mom I still could take care of my kids and in the evening doing my homework. I mean not every day was easy and not every day I understood everything, but we had really a great instructor David Hallinan. There was always a lot of help from the instructor David and the TAs Peter and Alex. I really enjoyed every day of the Bootcamp! 

Before coming into this bootcamp, I didn't have any experience in coding. I couldn't imagine me writing more than a few lines a code before I started. I also heard it was very challenging going into it and it actually was. BUT, now that I'm down with the program, I've written easily hundreds of lines of code and even though it was more challenging than I expected, I'm glad I went through it.

Not only did I gain valuable professional skills, but, 1. I met great people, 2. Even when things got tough, I pushed myself on a regular basis--but, I wasn't alone, there was plenty from peers, TAs and from David(teacher) and we all came out of it better because of it 3. I now have a great portfolio I can showcase to other professionals and prospective employers. 

Special shout out to David Hallinan for his tremendous support, in-depth knowledge of the material, excellent teaching skills and humor. Kept us engaged all the time. Funny guy.
